Man’s words proclaimed that God loves every man

More than the love God has for Himself!

Though it’s a great boost to the ego of man,

God’s Word does not teach that kind of regard for the self.

Indeed so great is God’s love for His people

But nowhere in His Word we could find

That His love for man exceeds His regard for all

Including Himself whose Glory baffles our mind.

Jesus, however, prayed to God the Father

That God has loved His people “even as you have loved me” (Jn 17:23).

He didn’t say that God’s love is greater

For them than His love for “Me”!

If you belong then to the Savior, Jesus Christ

God has loved you even as He loved His Son.

And the Son is loved even “before the creation of the world,” said Christ (Jn 17:24).

“Before the creation of world,” too,  His love you’ve won (Eph. 1:4-5).

For if we are the object of His Sovereign love,

Before the creation of the world,  not just now or in the future

Already chosen to be holy and blameless, as greatly loved

Predestined to be adopted as His children; thus, enabled to believe (Eph. 1:13) and to mature.
