This poem pretty much describes on how love is more different today than it was years and years ago.
Love is a trend
Slowly fading from recognition
Its meaning and depth
Is now laced with immoral competition
Men now whistle and sweet talk
Instead of simply holding open a door
No more with the “Sweetheart’s” or “My darlings”
They tell women anything as if it’s a chore
Women are no different
They now flaunt off what they can
what happend to just waiting,
Waiting for the wedding band?
Does love need to be rushed?
We have a lifetime to walk its bumpy road
No surprise that Prince Charming
Is nothing but a worthless toad
Whatever happened to those silly love letters
To remind someone how special they are
Or those little kisses on the cheek
That healed any wounded “scar”
But where is love nowadays?
You’ll have to search around
Because lust is now the new trend
That has every-ones hearts tied up and bound
Maybe one day love
Will be “fashionable” once more
And it’ll be like the old movies
Where the women stayed covered
and the men held open the door
