The things that I see that shows love at its best.

You sit across from me,
You point out the window,
You ask me what I see.
I look at the mother,
She cradles in her arms,
The newborn child that weeps,
As she rocks it to and throw,
The child once more sleeps.
Love is what I see.

You stand beside me,
Your heart is sad,
Tears flow down your face,
You tug at my sleeve,
Again, you ask of me,
Tell me daddy,
What do you see?
I dry your tears,
Then I say,
Love for country and freedom is what I see.

You point at the news on the T V,
You watched with wide eyes,
The firefighters rushing into the burning building,
Unafraid of the flames that incase them,
One by one, they rescue,
Those still trapped inside,
As you cuddle closer,
You ask me what I see.
Love for their fellow man’
Is my and tearful reply.
Yes, love is what I see.

We sit outside,
We stare up at the sky,
And as we watch,
The stars on high,
In addition, moon that shines so bright,
You whisper,
Daddy what do you see?
Love is eternal,
Is how I shall reply.
