A poem about the power of dreams.

They said “Go chase a waterfall”,
but i wanted the ocean.
They said “Love doesn’t last.”
An unbelievable notion.

They said “You can’t live on dreams.
Bring your head from the clouds.
Do come to reality.
Do please come back down.”

But my head was as high as a kite
And my heart, as light as a bird.
I had filled up on love now, so much,
I wanted the whole of the world.

They said “Love one day dies and
magic isn’t real.
You cannot live in the dreamtime,
In a life so surreal.”

I took off my hat to them.
I gave a small curtsy.
And then i flew away with the wind
and the night, out into the open sea.
