One man’s memory of a past love shared…

Walking along the ocean’s shore

much older now than years before

I stopped to look at water – blue

as crystal clear as thoughts of you.

I remember when we as children

would play upon this shore

swimming, laughing, building sandcastles

just this side of ocean’s door.

A single tear rolls down my cheek

as I slowly sink to bended knee

reaching out to touch the sand

I remember we walked away hand-in-hand.

What was it that led to this show of emotion

love blinded childish star-struck devotion?

That day wasn’t any different than any

others we had shared … except …

*laughing* … oh yes, now I remember

I wrote “I Luve U” watching to see what

it was that you would do.

You looked, winked, and simply added “2″.

Though the ocean waves erases the sand write ups, ocean remembers everything.
