lonely is the person

wanting nothing more than to be happy

yet free to feel as they wish

but unable to feel free

from a mind which eluded

all possibilities of reality

frightening is the world

escaping by them

day dreams of becoming an eagle

so graceful and peaceful in flight

high above the grassy knoll

beneath trembling feet of gold

relax

against a soft green slope

looking upward towards Heaven

so gracious, kind, loving

cry out loud

praying to be heard by the Heavenly Father

who gave you a soul to breathe

a soul to care and love with

and you know within your heart

He hears your every word, your every thought

you wonder in your confused mind

if you love and care about people

how can they be so hurtful

so terrifying and frightening

keep showing them your love and kindness

then maybe, just maybe,

they will turn around and love

not only you but the whole world too

spread your love and kindness

like the eagle spreads its wings

and soon people will notice

how love and kindness cn be contagious

live to love

because you love to live
