Poem.

Love is just an abstract idea
And one need not be a seer
To see a mere idea does no one any good
Although they’ll all stand up and say they have love in every neighborhood
Where they sell all the drugs, beat one another down
And have verbally abused in every way they could
Because they have not learned
Or else they have spurned
Love used in a practical way
As an example I might say
To let your neighbor pass in quiet and peace
Something which would not annoy them in the least
Is a practical way to show love
Or not begging and borrowing for a mere convenience
Is another practical way I’m thinking of
To refuse to say things in a tactless way
Is another way of showing brotherly love
Where instead unkindness would lay
To support an environment of gentleness with a smile
Where the opposite contains hard words and frowns all the while
Is another way of expressing practical love
Which at its platonic best contains all of the above
Because if its not made practical
The very thing you’re feeling is selfish, useless and not complete love
Because true acts of love is almost always an emotion
Which completes a beneficial act
While having the emotion alone remains only a narcissistic act
Which soothes you alone (only you)- And thats a fact
Its mainly selfish to look upon your lover with that glow of love in your eye
I recommend when you get that narcissistic feeling that you hug them close
And massage them throughly on the back (A beneficial act)
And true love would then be nigh
