I’m not the skinny type

I could stand to lose a few pounds

My body isn’t what society deems “perfect”

For this, I am trying to love myself.

I feel uncomfortable getting all dressed up

It doesn’t happen very often

I have family and friends that try to dress me up

But I tend to be very stubborn

Because of society’s standards

I don’t love myself

I’m not one of those beautiful models

Or some skinny superstar

For now, I’m just me and for this I’m trying to love myself.
