Love, unrequited.

Will I break just to see you again?
Will your presence mend this addiction,
this grievance I own?
Your memory has eaten up my soul
and I chew on the pieces to create
a picture of your face on my mind
Where dreams never cease with the time
my heart refuses to recognize
as it feeds on the hopeless love
that was never mine
I remember you have such beautiful eyes
but mine is blind
Even in that space in time
when my arms can reach out to hold your smile
as I fight the warmth I deny
It was enough then to fantasize
Still though I dream of your hands
holding mine
