I remember in days gone past
just thinking I’d never love again
A bad relationship will do that to you
and make your heart feel forever broken

We will sometimes blame ourselves
but deep down we know that’s not true
Just be patient and your time will come
a true soul mate will help you get through

They will listen when you need to vent
and understand each and every word
They will deal with your not so good days
and comfort your heart til it’s reassured

That’s what a true soul mate will do
no matter what happens they’ll be there
A wounded heart doesn’t heal overnight
it’s going to take a lot of tender loving care

They say relationships are hard work
but a good one feels like no work at all
Knowing that someone has your back
and is ready to pick you up if you fall

So love has found me once again
an old friend I haven’t seen in awhile
And just like an old friend is able to do
pick up your spirit and make your heart smile

I finally met someone that loves me for me
any and all doubt has already left my mind
Each of us have our own expectations
like a rare diamond,I found my one of a kind
