A sonnet about love and self worth.
If thou canst not see value in thy casting
or in thine eyes compose pleasing perception,
another’s view imposed shall not be lasting,
and fail you shall in seeking true affection.
For whence forth comes love if not from thine worth
And thy confidence in its disposition?
Stray self-opinion contrary to dearth
And thou shalt have accomplished futile mission!
The duty of esteem falls on thyself;
Assert thy truth; rebuke the world’s conviction!
Beauty in turn shall manifest itself
in eyes that do behold your heart’s depiction.
Thy judgement shall affect thy attitude -
In hearts content resides beatitude.
