Love that is unspoken can do damage, it doesn’t matter whether it is felt or not. Sometimes those three little words need to be said.

I wonder if I will be forgotten

because of the hurt

that has been begotten.

Will I still be worthy at all,

or the memory of me

yet become small?

Why things happen the way they do

can’t always be answered,

but we know it is real and true.

Regardless of the reason

we are still left feeling blue.

Love can cause the biggest wounds

and the deepest dunes.

The biggest wound of all

comes when one of the parties

can’t say those three little words.

That is where things begin to fall.

Love can be felt yet unspoken

that is true -

but if spoken,

can bring yet a different token.

DB…I sense a not so subtle message being conveyed to someone who may have been very special in this amazing poem. The three little words are probably not I Like It as a vote here on Triond, but are most certainly I Love You. The feeling and assurance of love can be conveyed in so many more sincere methods, gestures and phrases than three little words. Love is something that must be babied, nurtured and matured…there will be hills and valleys, highs and lows. The true test of the meaning of those three little words is whether their true meaning, spoken or unspoken, is able to weather the rough spots of the low valleys. Failure to survive the lows is perhaps the real test and cause of the biggest wound of all…but if the journey was meant to be it will be and if not then the love of which was spoken definitely becomes a different token. And regardless of where the chips may fall, I doubt if you will ever be forgotten. This looks to be a bitof an accusatory post-mortem of a relationship that seems to have run off the rails…hopefully you can salvage it. In the meantime, I used three little words I Like It in reference to voting for this poem…Thanks for sharing your tender thoughts and fragile feelings in this one…Take care
