Quietly, close your eyes.

Quietly, close your eyes
Listen to the soft hum
Of your lover’s sighs
The warmth of his fall and rise

Feel the night’s air
Feel it along every inch of your skin,
Gently, let yourself remember
What love is, once again

  • JoWo on Nov 27, 2008

    Very sensuous.
It reminds me of an extract from an old Russian poem quoted by Noel Barber in his wonderful novel Tanamera.
“And you will count the lallang, and I shall count the stars” (Lallang is a rough grass that grows in Singapore and Malaysia). It’s evocative of an image.
    Thanks for that.

Namaste young one, Very beautiful and well written. I felt as if I were there. This is true poetry as it comes from your heart as all things should. Let your inner child speak and shine through always. Write on and I will read and review.

I’m so amazed at the picture painted with so few words…just wonderful!

  • drewjthomas on Dec 2, 2008

the best of these sensitive sensuous poems is how you feel the
powerful temptation that is not successfully making the poet write down something grafic, soon already done with, than that almost/just-aboutness, left by the how of the finished line.
