Quietly, close your eyes.

Quietly, close your eyes
Listen to the soft hum
Of your lover’s sighs
The warmth of his fall and rise

Feel the night’s air
Feel it along every inch of your skin,
Gently, let yourself remember
What love is, once again

    Very sensuous.
    It reminds me of an extract from an old Russian poem quoted by Noel Barber in his wonderful novel Tanamera.
    “And you will count the lallang, and I shall count the stars” (Lallang is a rough grass that grows in Singapore and Malaysia). It’s evocative of an image.

    the best of these sensitive sensuous poems is how you feel the
