This poem is about a seasonal love affair between two people that turned into distant strangers.
There are reasons why I put my passions on hold,
Reasons why unknown mysteries unfold.
Reasons I went far beyond nature’s extreme,
Reasons I chose to live far above my own means.
Reasons I gave you love before I loved you,
Never stopped loving you but your heart drifted,
I tried to hold on too long, you moved on, your loyalty shifted.
Mesmerized by reuniting, I want so badly to re-connect,
Now your only thought of me is of a fainted silhouette.

I’ll never understand why life contributes to a cycle of distance,
Wondering if you betrayed me like our mutual acquaintance.
All I have left are the memories you left,
For years I wondered if you were greeted by death.
Overcome by excitement that you are still here,
Have to hide my true feelings because we haven’t spoken in years.
You departed suddenly, no lengthy goodbye,
Now you’ve returned (with her) feelings of grief is making me sigh.
What we shared I’ll always cherish and I’ll never forget,
Time to disappear with love, and I’m so glad that we’ve met.
