Back to the Future II.

I dreamed of passing through a sun’s ray

before it returned as a moon beam,

And I wished life lasted

     only eight minutes,

Maybe three tenths of a second more

but not much more than that.

Then every second that passed,

would add to my persistence

instead of detracting from my existence.

I might be more determined to experience

      a life of fulfillment

Not quick and fleeting but one with more meaning

The kind of meaning that teaches me

to cherish each moment as if it were my last.

Maybe then I could live life

 without returning to the past.

But as I travelled through history

     I realized this…

Every moment has always been about you.

You are the future I’ve been striving to get back to

Many great messages guiding the reader very well. The crescendo at the end is marvelous. Fully enjoyed, my talented friend.
