Or so we believe.
It seems every day my sister finds a four-leaf-clover
That’s the same way our mom used to be
But I can look for days even for weeks or months
When maybe one or two will be all I see.
Every day I look though as I walk across the yard
There are many spots where bunches of clovers grow
And I know for certain that they are there
Just to my eyes they seldom show.
She has found a six-leaf-clover as have I
She’s found a five-leaf-clover and I’ve found three
But over the span of our lifetimes
That’s actually, not, very many.
We’re going to start putting them in a jar
Wondering how long it will take to fill
I know my sister will do her part
Though I’ll do OK as I have strong will.
Actually this year already I’ve found three four-leaf-clovers
As the season changes I feel my luck will as well
For we’ll have a jar filled with luck once it’s full
Making beautiful things to share and tell.
I’ve just come inside and of course on my way in
At least five spots have caused me delay
I didn’t of course find more than three-leaf-clovers
Still I feel very lucky to be living this day.
Then I had to run back outside to ask my sister a quick question
When amazingly I actually found a four-leaf-clover for our jar
My sister looked again then found two more
As four clovers already today, prove a lucky day so far.
