Poetry in the middle of a dream.

Lullabye City

by christina doelitzsch

There’s a place I go when there’s no one around, I close my eyes and travel back in time

To a little land where creatures roam free

I call this land lullabye city

a place where the children laugh all day in the streets

a place where happiness and prosperity meet

a place where dolphins say how do you do

and little bird whisper sweet nothings to you

This little lost world that resides in my head

and allows me to visit when I’m asleep in my bed

and the wishes I eat are sumptuous and sweet

and dreams walk about with tiny dream feet.

leprechauns sell flowers for a farthing or two

and unicorns laugh while elves tie their shoes

fairys sell candles a penny a piece

and you know you will like most anyone you meet.

The days they are nights and the moon waves hello

a place where you would always want to go

so when you are sad, when you need to be free

just take me by the hand and we’ll walk on the sea

to the place where I go

the place that I see

Each and every night in the magic of my dreams.
