For those whose vision is too bright to see…

Image via Wikipedia

Oh, you are so careful, so smart
yet you seem to forget
when you fuse a root-beer float
with molten ingots of pure gold
you cannot call their brief commingling
a quickie
or even a metaphor for clash of values
or a froth of thermodynamics.

Slam them together,
generate sweet foaming heat,
bring them in sync with one another,
and from their sparks
you will see Genesis-
life and love in the making.

For those whose vision is too bright to see,
let them pacify themselves
with pithy sayings
on scraps of paper
pulled from broken cookies after a meal.

But for you, shining ones,
for you sweet poets
with visions burning bright
and eyes that can see the plain truth
for what it is -
you may strap your language
on like rockets,
and make it scream into the heavens
so even the gods may hear.

Sometimes we just don’t see the brilliance in some people because we refuse to open our eyes in fear that the light might blind us.Great poem.

Does anyone know whether or not there is anything in the Policy and Procedures manual of Authspot that prohibits kissing the poets when they write stuff like this? Jus’ askin…
