Mad Mage

31 July 09

Secretly and alone
Deep deep somewhere lost
Under the waterfall
There is a secret cave
Protected by spells
No creature suspects
Within
A chamber filled
With the strange
With the mystical
And oddest of all
The old tall thin
Wrinkly bald man
He walked feebly
His thin boney fingers
Turn the pages
Of a book older than him
He squints his eyes
Reading old words
Words of a language lost
Gathering potions and things
Puts them on a table etched
With symbols of power
Snaps his fingers
Fire blazes up under
The little kettle
Chanting he begins
A rhythmic dance
Mixing in this, that
And other things
Potions dripped in
Make puffs of colored smoke
Sparkling mist fills the cave
The old man breathes
Deeply
With each lung full
He gains strength
Wildness fills his eyes
As hair begins to grow
Muscles strengthen
Madness regains him
As the mist clears
A young strong man
Stands there cackling
Madly

That is a fantastic piece, Milton. It is amazing how a picture can inspire such writing. Well done.
