The magic of Christmas through the eyes of a grown up.
Stockings on the fireplace
Presents ‘neath the tree
Used to be the scene of magic
For the little girl in me
But I’m a grown-up now
And the magic is something new
It’s still the lights and still the gifts
But with a different view
The tree became a manger
The light is from the star
That led the way to The Gift
Guiding the shepherds from afar
The magic that Christmas brings to me
Is how just one little boy
Saved the world from endless hell
And showed my heart eternal joy
Life’s not always perfect
There will be up’s and down’s
But the magic is that through Christ’s love
Smiles can replace our frowns
“It is better to give than to receive”
I don’t think that’s completely true
Because of the magic of God’s love
I have a different view
God and Christ gave the ultimate gift
Of that I truly believe
But the gift doesn’t mean a thing
If we don’t choose to receive
The magic of the Christmas season
Used to be in packages and things
Now it lies in the miracles of Christ
When in me His spirit rings
