On summer nights, I sit at my childhood home, out on the deck, and watch as the magic descends with the night.

Sit quietly, so quietly, and watch the dark descend.
As twilight covers all the world,
soon the magic will begin.
If you’re patient and wait so still,
shortly you will see
the spell that will enchant you now
and change what you believe.
Hush now child,
and barely breathe,
for as the night draws near’r
we will behold what has never been proven-
I will share it with you, my dear.
Watch closely, see,
here they come-
the fireflies are out.
Little lightning flashes start
and sparkle all about.
Listen to the forest exhale
as it lets go the day.
Now is the time, in the dark of night,
when the dancing faeries come out to play.
Now smile, sweet one, for I have shared
what makes me believe
that God has filled the world with love, and magic for you and me.

A beautiful and magical poem. I sometimes sit and dream of my childhood home also. What fond beautiful memories. These are things that you cherish, memories that never fade.
