We see Magpies in the park.
When we visit our park we are delighted to see the resident magpies,
as we turn in the drive-way the stark contrast of them calm upon the grass.
On one day we saw one on a fence post and the other in grass fossicking,
the female bird whistled a beautiful tune as if it was a welcome to their home.
They are residents it appears to be,
they wait upon the tree-tops visualising visitors to the grounds.
The songs they would whistle and further they are tame with people,
having heard other people experience the magpie swooping protecting young.
We have never had it happen to us thus far lucky I suppose,
hear the stories of children with ice-cream buckets on the head with two eyes on back.
To determine to keep them at bay still they have the right to protect their new Born’s,
I would even see them on the other side of the park when walking in afternoon.
