This is my humble appreciation of the nature’s most majestic creature, national animal of India – the Tiger. May this poem support those who want to save the tigers (including me) for our future generations and the wellness of nature. This was written when I was about 10 years old and treasure it close to my heart.

Tiger! A majestical look with black stripes,
Like the green grass seems when it ripes.
Body covered with lovely yellow coat,
Like the sun settled in distant sailing boat.

Fast Runner,
Long Jumper,
Keen Looker,
It’s a Tiger!

It hunts for itself and licks up blood,
And also catches sambars in the flood.
Paws are powerful and are broad,
Lovely, majestic and sent by God!

Cunning hunter,
Fierce killer,
Heavy puller,
It’s a Tiger!

Meeting tiger in forest path,
None can escape from it’s wrath.
“Tigers are precious”, Know it man!
Hunting them, Oh! We must ban.

Tigers are my favorite animal. I would love to be able to try and save them. It is on my list of ambitions.
    The piece itself was brilliant.

Yes…I Highly agree Tigers need to be saved, there being killed right now, I am sad to say. Not only in the wild, but in the captive breed population too and the sick part about is, its for there skin and to make Chinese remedies. Only savages need to be clothed in the skin of animals and use animal parts to make money. This amazing animal should be treasured for its majestic beauty, because its priceless and no amount can buy its stunning grace.

Yes Ajsta, they are in a pitious state. Hope our next generation get to see them in the wild. :(
