The malady of hate keeps lingering throughout the centuries. There are certain prejudices that will not go away. The world would be a better place without hatred, malice, and groundless animosities that seem to persist since time immemorial.

There’s a malady severe

So virulent that one

Might never e’er recover from,

Before ones life is done.

Unlicensed and unstoppable,

Festering as it shows

No reason why it is around

No one really knows!

Neither time nor circumstance

Could oust it from its tower,

Conquer it, once and for all,

And take away its power.

What is this malady of old,

Born of the untamed past,

Out of sheer ignorance, as yet

Unconquered and outclassed?

Some day, this malady of hate,

Lingering throughout time,

Be hopefully at once replaced

By love, pure and sublime!

Expelled from our humanity

Excluded from the stage

Of values set in bold relief

In this enlightened age!
