Written for Child Abuse Awareness & Prevention,we can make a difference!
How could daddy hurt her this way,
his “favorite” little girl in the world?
Her teachers constant questions.
The past few days a solid blur.
She had covered the bruises as long as she could,
for never had she felt so ashamed!
But now so severe she could barely walk
at school, she blacked out from the pain.
She told the judge that next Monday in court
My daddy,he just likes to drink.
He’s really not a bad man your honor,
if that is what you think.
You see my Mama passed two years ago,
and I am all that he’s got.
You can take me away if you want to,
but please,give him another shot.
He didn’t drink until Mama died.
And I told him daddy she’s at home with the Lord.
That’s when he would jerk off the belt,
and tell me to shut the door.
As long as I don’t mention Mama,
We will get along just fine.
Please your honor just get him some help.
Mama’s is waiting for him on the other side.
