A poem about a little one who thinks they are to old to have the wool pulled over their eyes, or so he thinks.

Mummy told me there’s a man in the moon,

mummy will be saying it’s made of cheese soon,

but I can’t eat it with a spoon.

Mummy makes me smile.

Sometimes I think she is silly.

I do sit and watch the moon for a while,

it sort of has a face.

He does look like a funny fellow,

but as for it being made of cheese,

everyone knows it’s yellow,

if you please.

I think mummy is being a tease.

The moon is slivery and bright,

with no real man in sight.

Everyone knows it’s Mr spoon,

that lives on the moon,

and he calls it button moon.

If there was a man in the moon,

there would be no room for Mr spoon.

So mummy if you please stop being such a tease.
