totally mangled up in the cage

if I yelped

would someone come

would anyone truly care

whimpering with sounds of a giggle

can be heard, can be understood

deep within myself

but if I let everything out

would others be willing to hear it

would they actually understand it

and I realize

in their own subtle way

others can hear it

others would be able to understand it

if only in their own words, own thoughts

totally mangled up in a cage

I yelped, choking in a way,

yet nobody came
