I always cry at weddings. There is something so magical taking place that I get swept up in the moment.

A million stars light up the night
But none are any where as bright
As the glow reflected in her face
As she waits for his embrace
As the crowds rise in their seats

Picture from Microsoft Word clip art

Fresh tears roll down my cheeks
The minister proclaims them man and wife
As God and man joins them for life
Then the couple exchanges a kiss
Setting the stage for marital bliss
Cameras capture the magic day
Before the limo whisks them away

    Lovely poem.

I cry at weddings too. It’s wonderful to see the couple so happy but sad to know it can’t last. They will have daily life to contend with, the new will soon wear off and it will be up to them to make of their marriage what they will.

  • hfj on Jan 20, 2009

I hope they stay married for at least a week, before another partner they seek. I said that for a joke because of how most people treat wedding vows these days. Marriage is not viewed as a lifetime committment anymore. Your poem was beautiful, and thats the way God meant for it to be. Well done.

  • Judy Sheldon on Jan 20, 2009

Chan, Papaleng, Valli, Ruby and Hfj, Thanks so much. Marriage is work, but definitely rewarding if both partners are committed.

    Take care & G♥d bless!
