There are lots of very talented poets and poetesses publishing on the Internet who would like to get more exposure and more money for their beloved poetry but poetry doesn’t sell well currently. Unless it is promoted in a careful way. Here is how.
I have been posting my writing at Triond and other sites for a couple of years now and it has been wonderful connecting with writers from all over the world I have gotten to know and correspond with regularly. It is pretty amazing because I usually don’t get many page views and for sure not many comments. I am not surprised because a lot of my stuff, some of the non sense poetry in particular, is just awful. But being a skinny old man without much to do is reason enough for me to post my rubbish anyway just for a good laugh now and then.
But there are some fine, fine poets and poetesses posting at Triond and HubPages and elsewhere. Many of them would love to get a wider audience for their poetry, and clearly are worthy of it, but poetry is not a big seller these days, unless it is a lyric to a hit song. Usually.
But there is a way for the Flowered Princess to do just fine with her poetry sales-wise. Here is how you can win the game at a stacked table. First, establish your self as a successful non fiction writer. In other words you build a healthy sized readership, or customer base, as they call it, and then offer your poetry.
Successful non fiction writing today for us little folks is being done all over the place, particularly at Amazon Kindle. You need to base the topic of your non fiction book on Keyword Research and you need to promote your book with a proven plan. Many Kindle writers simply hook up with a Kindle Facebook group where the members promote each others books in order to get quick sales and page rank at Amazon. They download each others books when they are available at preanounced times for free and review them at Amazon and agree with the tags as well. Some of them send $0.99 amazon gift cards to their Facebook partners who do well fo them, sometimes with a buck added on in order for the reviewer to do the same with her book, to get page rank faster and stronger right away than with just reviews because actual sells work better at Amazon. And that is largely how it is being done today.
Also a good free manual marketing plan is a big plus. You offer your book free to a wide set of free download sites and ask for reviews in the book. The reviews give your book grist by giving them page rank at Amazon, which leads to good general sales. Plan on making just $15 a month per 20 page non fiction book 100 times over. That is $1,500 a moth. Well worth the effort.
Kindle Marketing Revelations, a $7 ebook details such a plan, and, grants entry into a Kindle Facebook group where members hotly support each other. Seven bucks a real good investment in this case. Click the link and get your poetry ready for the world.
