Poem about civil rights leader.

Never has a man brought

So much meaning to a name

Yet his quest in life wasn’t

For fortune and fame

He stood against the tide

Faced hatred at every turn

Yet for the love of people

His heart would still yearn

He was a symbol for America

What America should be

A land of equal opportunity

Active and ‘True’ democracy

His speeches were powerful

His love too intense to comprehend

Yet someone saw fit

For his life to end

Some say he was killed by an assassin

Or malignant countenance

I say he was killed by bigotry

Laced with pure ignorance

In passing he left a message

That all life shoud be held with esteem

So long live Martin Luther’s legacy and long live the Dream
