The little ones promenade.
MAYDAY–THE GRAND FINALE’
The little boys in snow white shoes
And a powder blue pastel suit
The little girls in pastel sea green dresses
Parade out on the school ground
Looking all proud and cute
As they circle around the maypole
Getting into their preset places
Each ones head swivels back and forth
Looking for familiar faces
Then the music starts to play
And the mental countdown starts
Each little body moving to a practiced pace
As the butterflies slowly depart
Calamane left calamane right
Then skip to my loo
Like your teachers taught you to do
Then pick up your streamer
And hold it tight
Then doe see doe to the left
And then to the right
Then round and round the maypole you go
Like the horses on a merry go round
Up and down all in a row
Over and under do your best
Ones to the east
Twos to the west
While your parents sit back
And pop their vest
Over and under to and fro
Like a wave of springtime color
Round and round the maypole you go
When wrapping the pole is finally through
Hold hands and come forward
Two by two
Boys take a bow
The girls will curtsy too
Now pose for the cameras
We are all so proud of you
