This is about a playful cat.
Maya leaps,
Over the chair,
And over the table,
And slithers across the rug,
And bounces off of the wall.
Endless energy, her enthusiasm is electric,
And she makes me smile as she bounces onto the bed,
Then back to the chair.
Why is she crawling up the table?
She’s so silly,
The world is just a big playground to her.
And now she’s leaping up onto the couch where I’m sitting,
And demanding that I stroke her
Black, brown and white fur.
When she looks up at me with those
Big, green eyes,
So loving, so innocent,
My world is right,
And I remember that there are some creatures,
That have nothing but love.
I end my day and crawl into bed,
Exhausted,
And Maya leaps,
Right onto me,
Where she sleeps.
