A poem exploring commonalities.

What do you think of at night?

Do you ever stare up at your celing?

While you’re laying in bed?

Do you wonder what you’re doing here?

Or maybe you ask yourself,

Why is this that or that is this?

Do you spend nights alone?

Do you have trouble falling asleep,

Because thoughts of the world,

And thoughts of your soul,

Won’t get out of your head?

Do you feel alone?

Sometimes do you feel like,

There’s no one in the world but you?

Have you ever felt a crushing pressure,

Upon your soul that stops your breathing,

That you just can’t explain?

Do you pray for the return,

Of the safety and happiness of hte sun?

Of a shining light that will wash away,

The sadness that creeps up on you,

In the gloom of Night?

Do you ever toss and turn,

Trying to figure out what you did wrong?

Or try to figure out if something you did,

Was wrong in the first place?

Do you ever cry in the middle of the night,

Without understanding why?

Please don’t be afraid to talk to me,

I think I can understand you,

Yes you do?

I was just curious,

What?

Oh yes, me too.
