These are my memories of growing up with my grandparents. My Gram has passed and my Pap is still with us but ready to go home.
I remember Friday nights watching Falcon Crest and Dallas on TV
Butter popcorn – that’s what our late night snack would be
I remember Saturday mornings being the best
The smell of breakfast filtering up the steps
I remember who taught me to make a killer egg omelet
My Pap the best cook and teacher my skill has been set
I remember Saturday evenings gathered around the table
Our family time together so much fun even though we were hardly stable
I remember doing homework then playing cards with Gram
That seems like ages ago and our hourglass has run out of sand
I remember Christmas time with Aunt Linda and Uncle Mike
How us kids would pray we’d get snow during the night
I remember Pap giving me the opportunity to drive
His patience with me has helped me thrive
There are so many memories that run through my mind
I think I’d trade them for a little extra time
I can’t believe our time is coming to an end
But I’ll look forward to the day when we’re all together again
