The memories still here and clear, taunting me with our last goodbye…

imagine loving one so much

you’d never let them go

you’d sit around the phone all day

and wait for that one impossible call

you couldn’t accept the truth that he

was happily engaged to be

for you’d loved him from the moment

you first met

the day that in your life burns bright

never to forget

imagine loving one so much

that when you speak face to face

your day

goes from cloudy, gloomy

dark and gray

to cheerful and hopeful; all else, come what may…

i hope that one day i’ll find the guy

who makes me so joyful i’d want to fly

but for now i’m stuck here wondering why

as i watch you walk, away

the memories still here and clear

taunting me with our last goodbye

Wow, that was simply too deep… loved it though, Olive! Like all of your other poems. It was great, though sometimes they are very intense.
    Sometimes.

It’s a really good poem Olivia… It is what I’m going through right now.

Goodbyes are like unwanted hellos. No one ever wants to say it but they could turn into a welcome beginning.

    Touching.Thoughful.Stirring.

Painting an image of “love” is not easy, especially when it reaches the point of “goodbye”. Well done.
