This poem speaks of the unbearable trauma one undergoes from having suffered a broken heart. Thus, the heartbreaker is given the image of a man hitting his victim with a rock, and shattering her heart to pieces..

He threw a rock and it hit my heart.. before I could duck. I felt a stab ,of pain as my shattered heart throbbed.. damaged and lame. None aided me, for the injury they couldn’t see.. and docs turned me away saying a broken heart was no medical emergency. So after months of tears and laughter, my heart was finally repaired. But I now avoid men with rocks.. and only deal with those who seem most sincere, because of all the organs, a broken heart causes the most despair.
