Metamorphosis

You are the girl that you once were,

but something is happening.

Change has entered silently and

is willing you to find a new you.

The person you once were

has gone and floated away

to yesterdays memories.

In a way, you are still her, but

something inside your soul, your psyche,

has sparked something new

to metamorphosis inside you.

Your butterfly wings have pushed

through the silent webs

that held you back.

You didn’t want to change,

but you can’t help it.

You didn’t realize that everyday

sparks a new vitality

that resides in you.

It is making you turn into

the beautiful butterfly that

you long to be.

You want to swirl and flutter

within the gentleness of the wind.

You want to soar to new depths

and reach for the skies.

You want the new you

to release the creative soul

that you now are becoming.

The new you is here to stay.

Well, at least for now.

You know you will keep evolving.

You always do.  You are never

going to stay the same.

Yet, there is always a part of you

that never changes.

After all,

you were born and you

will always be you,

no matter how much

you strive to change yourself.

But we all know that

our authentic selves

long to be beautiful butterflies

that can change within a heartbeat.
