Here’s another for those of us who have been lost in someone already taken.
You are waiting for me in a trashy motel room.
Thoughts of how you shouldn’t be here running through your head.
A picture of your wife and kids so clearly set in pause.
Maybe I will leave you say to the empty room.
Maybe she won’t show up.
As I reach for the door handle I pause.
Maybe I should turn around.
I should just drive away.
I feel you looking at me through the window.
An unsure smile spreads across both our faces.
You open the door for me.
As I step in you grab me for a hug.
As you lightly kiss my neck you whisper I know.
I look up to your eyes as your lips capture mine for a sweet kiss.
Once again trapped in a world where no one else exists.
My midnight lover and I alone again.
