the affirmation to this effect was made at a meeting of heads of armed forces which was chaired by Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC) General Khalid Shameem Wynne at the Joint Staff Headquarters on Wednesday.

The meeting was attended by COAS General Ashfaq Pervez Kayani, Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Noman Bashir, Chief of Air Staff Rao Qamar Suleman, Secretary Defence, Secretary Defence Production, Director General Joint Staff, Director General Inter Services Intelligence, Director General Strategic Plans Division and other senior military officers.

Sources told the forum reviewed the prevailing national and regional security environment, challenges faced by the country and the armed forces of Pakistan and expressed satisfaction over the operational preparedness of the armed forces. All members expressed satisfaction over the successful visit of Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao to Pakistan.
