I wrote this poem about women wearing makeup in hopes to make themself more beautiful to their lover or the male species.
I look into a mirror,
What I see is not me.
A figure standing there with a painted face,
And a smile to show her joy.
This is but the mask I wore,
But now that I have myself,
I am showing my true self.
Erase the mask I wore,
See what is truly me.
I am here to stay,
The real me is but the beginning,
Of a reality I know so well.
I wash off this mask,
So my lover can see my face.
I love you more,
I adore you so,
My heart is for you,
And no other soul.
