Runaways on the streets.

Every day they wait by the phone,
Television always on,waiting for news.
for you have gone missing. just left.
As they would not listen to your views.

Could not understand,
kept pushing you away.
Now they are sorry,
but its too late today.

They have put up posters.
with pictures of you.
Adverts in the paper.
What else can they do.

Crying, they are worried.
Cant sleep at night.
Just wwaiting for news
of any sight.

Hoping and praying.
for a knock at the door.
Any word what so ever.
Sitting and waiting…for what seems forever more..

This is a situation many parents go through. It is difficult for both sides to cope with. A poignant piece.
