An inspirational song without notes written about the moment one realizes what life is all about…just as life begins to fade away.
Sunlight dancing on the lake within my dreams
Shadows loom over hidden thoughts and silent screams
Faces of the past appear before my eyes
and I realize
what regret means
I look into the mirror and I wonder why
the frailness of life of earth had come here to die
at a moment in time when I wanted most
to open my weakened wings once more
and fly
I will stand on the mountain’s edge before I fall
Time will finally find me, but through it all
I will have loved, laughed, and lost
no matter what the cost
as my soul becomes the mist on the water
No sense crying over what could have been
Right now it’s about the “if” and not the “when”
I have a past behind me, which is all I’ll ever need
because without those years of hard earned lessons
I would never have agreed
that I would stand on the mountain’s edge before I fall
that time would finally find me, but through it all
I would have loved, laughed, and lost
no matter what the cost
as my soul became the mist on the water
Love is hard to give and hard to take
It’s easier to share in dreams than when awake
There is no language that can touch
the hearts that need it so much
without the heart that holds the message to fall and break
I offer my life to the earth from which it came
knowing the times I’ve touched, for better or worse, will never be the same
To those I leave behind in my wake
You can always find me dancing on the lake
