The tragic position of a woman in love with one but married to another!

You dreamed of a life partner

You wanted the happily-ever-after

But my friendship was too familiar

You sought the strange arms of a lover

Denied your heart the first impulse

Gently it beckoned, but you would not pause

Imagination paved a promising way

And selfish ego came forth to stay

You thought it out time a number

The plan was drawn of gold and silver

With head you put the pieces together

The puzzle of your sweet happily-ever-after

But only too soon do you sadly discover

The plan was void of milk and butter

And your precious stones of brilliant lustre

Grow fairly colder by a larger cluster

Only now you sadly remember

Cherished moments we spent together

Days of pure joy and laughter

All that, you wish now recover

Mistress of deception, unrepentant liar

Grave sinner masquerading in matrimonial attire

Slavishly devout to the wishes of her master

Yet silently longing for the warmth of another

ooow poetry that all who read Im sure would be familiar with have experienced in life… I wonder sometimes when this happens whether it is how society & religion has for generations (not so much now in the 2000’s but is still there) pushed us into choosing a partner that one would marry have children and often perhaps one does this by pressure believing that either love will grow or the feelings of lust will somehow emerge or both .. from the partner one has decided to share their life with…. Perhaps Life pushes humans into being deceptive … I don’t know just a thought … like there are so many dynamics to this subject do you not think… Perhaps you wrote this as your experience.. if so Im sorry for your hurt your loss… we invest our all when we enter a relationship with another .. it is a lot to loose yes :*) / I really like your poem and many will be relating to this. thankQ always beez :)
