Poem for a friend.

In a life full of heartbreak
and trial
I look for the light
that will shine
into my heart
and brighten the dark.

In a world full of unconnected
people
I look for the joy
that will uplift
my heart
and fill me up.

In a heart full of fear
and mistrust
I look for the friend
that will hold
my heart gently
and wait for my trust.

You are my light.
You are my heart.
You are my friend.
In you I place my trust.
