Deceptive smiles.
She smiles; does it mean she’s happy?
When she laughs, is she really laughing?
Or is it a way to hide all the pain?
What you don’t see is the real her
Behind closed doors, her smile disappears
Her laugh turns into tears
Her sadness rushes over her body
And envelopes her
There is not an outlet for her pain
So she inflicts it upon herself
She doesn’t want to do it
But she doesn’t know what else to do
So she bleeds a little
A small cut that would go unnoticed
No questions
Nothing.
When she goes to bed she says a little prayer
Hoping she will not awake the next day
That she would just disappear from this world
It would be better if she just died
After all, she’s ugly and fat
No man wants her
Her friends have deserted her
She’s all alone
What does she have to lose?
Nothing
But like human instinct that wants to live
Speaks out
And now she’s trapped
But she waits for death to create her entrapment
And take her
She waits impatiently with open arms
And the day she sees death again
She will truly smile
And finally feel what she’s longed for
…… acceptance
