Mood swings, though bad, are an important part of life as we learn by comparison.

Oh, sullen mood, live not, please die
It is for the smiles that I would try
Pierce not the heart, nor the eye
For happiness to gain
Be off, then! Stay not, oh sullen mood!
It is for naught that one should brood
For having you is never that good
With nothing to attain
But then again, you do let us know
Just how much we need you to go
For there lies, the human blow
We need you to compare
For as good mood then, so does arrive
We then know how, we are alive
Helping us to clearly survive
Your lesson then, is shared

Wow! What a wonderful way to express the seasons of mood. Like they say ‘You can’t appreciate the morning’s first ray of light, without going through the long dark night’. Beautiful work.

Yes, How would we know if something was wonderful if we did not compare it to something less? Well done! I have written of this topic in the past in my prose too.
