A poem about the Moon Landing. The space race between the Americans and Russians. The world still watches these images, and is still in wonder about it all.

Two astronauts were on the surface of the moon

so hard to believe, but perfectly true.

Apollo 11 had landed – amongst great fame -

beating the Russians, in the space game.

  One large step for Mankind

  we heard Neil Armstrong say,

  hopping along the moon

on that July day.  (20th July 1969).

  The Eagle had landed

  they planted the flag.

It looked wonderful, as if it fluttered

  those ‘Stars and Stripes’.
