Poem:

Wondrous bursts of human skill,

Bringing changes in lifestyle;

With each step along the way

Looms a new and better day.

There’s a keen, progressive sway

O’er those that lag behind

With the hope that they too will

Join the race and surely find

Benefits to bring them closer

Toward freedom from the stress

Of the economic mess,

That they may attain no less

Things that will afford much pleasure –

Dreams that seem beyond fulfillment

With equality in terms of fairness,

Conforming to the spirit of

Magnanimity and love,

That life on earth may yet become

The totality and sum

Of peace and relaxation sweet

That each and everyone shall greet,

And human life be bearable

Rewarding and sustainable,

With no more famine causing pain,

Happening time and time again,

No more deadly deprivation,

No more tyranny and cessation

Of true peace for every nation;

But the will to do what’s right,

To blunt the edge of pain and plight.
