To inspire all of us: a tribute to my beloved dog.

Lord, help me to be more
Like my dog…
He rarely knows anger
He forgives all transgressions
He is never sarcastic,
Selfish or rude
And never holds a grudge
He finds happiness
In simple pleasures
When he’s with me
His world is complete
He never complains
He never questions
Money and possessions
Mean absolutely nothing
The warmth of a bed
The love we share
Our time together
Mean everything to him
A bowl of kibble
And a bowl of fresh water
Complete his diet
His life is simple
And his expressions sincere…
We humans are said
To be the most intelligent
Of all creation…
And yet my dog
Knows a truer happiness
In simplicity than I do…
Lord, help me to be more
Like my dog…

Hey , I wish more people were more like your dog. Life would be more enjoyable.

Nice piece. You are 100% right with this write. We are too selfish and want, want, and keep wanting. Seems we are never satisfied no matter what we have. Well done friend.

Nick, this is so cute. What a idea. And how true.

    Nick,
This is why a dog is mans best friend. Give them a bowl of kibble, a bowl of water, and a warm place to curl up close to its owner or even on the owners lap and they are happy… and add a little play time and they’re in seventh heaven. Another great poem, Nick. Keep up the great work. Tell Jan Hi for me and Mary!!!

Me, too, Nick, me too. I really just want to be the person my dogs sees that I am. Because when I am with my dogs I am a better person. Great read.
