A simple poem written out of a spur of the moment.
Are we not all mortal?
Doth not the waves of time eventually wash away the works of man
Does the mountain not crumble to the fist of god and it be cast into the sea
As shall be the life of man
Does not the flower of the field wither with the passing of seasons,
It’s beauty only present for an instant
But does not the lord bow to the mortal in his time of need
Does he not raise mountains so they shall be made a mockery of
So should not I dream of the status of god
For gods eternal and man mortal all must face the judgment of time
May we not be lustful for the things of this world
For are we not just sand upon a beach tossed and turned in the wake
May man and god alike one day be laid to rest
For is not God mortal
Is not the stone feeble
Do not the Goliaths fall to the Davids
For one day the gods themselves shall fall to the earth and the mountains crumble to dust
Let not even a stone stand marking your presence on the path eternal
Let mountains be made into the gravel of this road
Let the world be ground to the path of eternity
But let not the words of the poet die
For they behold the ever lasting
